Player guide
Everything you can do in Vibeworld, from your first steps in the meadow to earning real money for merged pull requests. No internals — just how the world works when you're standing in it.
Entering the world
- Download the app from the downloads page (Mac, Windows, Linux). It finds your local Claude Code and Codex sessions — that's something a browser can't do.
- Log in with your email. No password: we send a magic link. Your perks follow that email everywhere.
- Pick one session to share — or enter with no session and just explore. Everything else on your machine stays private until you choose otherwise.
- Spawn in your region's meadow. Builders from your part of the world appear nearby. Your agent's activity — prompts, replies, working status — shows above your character as little terminal windows.
Controls & commands
- WASD / arrows — walk (tap to move on mobile)
- Enter — chat with builders near you
- E — interact: enter districts, use stations
- Q — cycle district destinations, then follow the lit route
- Tab — hop to the next builder
- H — the district field guide
- M — mute the district soundtrack
Type / in chat for commands: /intent <text> shows what
you're looking for above your head, /session <name> starts a coding room,
/who lists builders nearby, /where shows your district, and members can
/fly <anywhere> — a country, a timezone, or any topic word.
Flow, levels & loot
Flow is Vibeworld experience. The persistent-launch model rewards a balanced mix of real coding, useful collaboration, exploration and verified contributions. Repeating one easy action forever is intentionally less valuable than moving between them.
The level curve
Total Flow for level L is 50 × L × (L + 1). Early upgrades arrive
quickly; veteran levels take increasingly meaningful work. Levels are permanent and
visible on every minion.
| Level | Total Flow | Unlock rhythm |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 100 | first active day |
| 2 | 300 | collaboration + exploration |
| 3 | 600 | consistent building |
| 4 | 1,000 | multi-day progress |
| 5 | 1,500 | all launch districts unlocked |
| 10 | 5,500 | veteran milestone |
Build, collaborate, explore
A qualifying ten-minute agent activity window.
up to 8 / dayComplete a meaningful public coding session.
up to 2 / dayAn active Pair Grove collaboration window with both builders participating.
up to 6 / dayMeet three unique verified builders in the world.
once / dayCollect a blue diamond while exploring the meadow.
first 10 / daySquash a live Bug Swamp target within reach.
first 10 / dayCrack a treasure case; level 2 or membership is still required.
first 1 / dayHave your solution merged through a funded Vibeworld quest.
up to 2 / weekDiscovering a district grants 5 Flow once. Completing the meadow introduction grants 20 Flow once. Resolved reviews and completed two-person sessions add small, capped bonuses. Objects remain fun to find after their Flow limit, but cannot become an unlimited progression farm.
Your minion evolves with you
Evolution is cumulative: every rank keeps the recognizable terminal body and adds another layer of equipment or energy. It never changes collision size or grants a competitive advantage.
Coding sessions — multiplayer rooms
A session is a room other builders can join. Every session has a shared editor (everyone types in the same document, live), a goal, a task checklist, a team chat, and a live feed of what the host's agent is doing.
- Start one anywhere with
/session <name>— or use the portals in AI Sessions to open a Claude, Codex or open room. - Sessions are visible to builders in your district — walk up and join, or use the session list.
- What the room sees of your agent is the same redacted stream the world sees: prompts and tool names, never your code.
Post a bounty — get real work merged
A bounty turns a GitHub issue on your public repo into a funded quest anyone in the world can pick up. The money moves only when you merge their pull request.
- On GitHub: write the task as an issue on your public repo — that issue is the work order solvers read.
- Install the Vibeworld app on that repo (GitHub → Settings → Applications). This is how your merge triggers the payout.
- In the world: go to Bug Swamp → the patch platform → E to open the bounty board.
- Hit “+ post a bounty on your repo”, enter the repo (
owner/name), the issue number, a short title, and the amount ($5–$5000). - Pay at the Stripe checkout that opens: the bounty amount + a 10% platform fee. The solver always receives 100% of the advertised amount.
- Your bounty appears green and OPEN on the board for every player in the world.
Solve a bounty — get paid for a merged PR
- Open the board at Bug Swamp's patch platform — or browse the live bounty feed on the web. In the swamp, the CRT screen shows open bounties and the log book keeps the solved archive.
- First time: the game will ask you to link your GitHub account — ten seconds, once.
- Reserve the bounty you want. It's locked to you for 48 hours so nobody duplicates your work.
- Do the work in your own tools — your repo fork, your agents, your editor. Open a normal PR that says
Closes #<issue>. - When the poster merges, the full bounty is yours. First payout ever: Stripe asks you to set up your payout account once (bank + identity, handled by Stripe).
Your merged bounties are public and verifiable — they're your reputation in the world.
Bounty rules, in plain words
- The merge is the only judge. No disputes, no support tickets — the person paying decides by merging or not merging.
- Solvers keep 100% of the advertised amount. Posters pay the 10% fee on top.
- Reservations last 48h — if you go quiet, the bounty returns to the board for others.
- Unsolved bounties refund automatically after 30 days — posters never lose money to silence.
- Merged work is always owed. Once your PR is merged, the payout can't expire — it waits for your payout account if needed.
The ten districts
Districts are complete worlds behind the portals in the meadow — each with its own map, soundtrack and purpose. Levels gate the deeper ones; the miniature at each entrance shows the world inside.
Pair Grove LV 0
Meet & pair-program under the World Tree — live today. Press E at any of the eight workstations to take a seat: it opens a two-seat desk session, and the next builder who sits there becomes your partner — one shared editor, one goal. The collaboration circle is the open room for everyone in the grove, the idea board jumps into your session's shared doc, the invite lantern copies a join link, and the quiet benches mark you as deep-focused. While two or more of you build together in the grove, you earn steady focus flow.
AI Sessions LV 0
The agent crossroads. Three portals — Claude, Codex, open — each starts a live session of that kind with one keypress. Watch other builders' agents think in their room feeds.
Coming: the observatory — a directory of every live agent session, one hop from watching to joining.
Open Session LV 0
The public workshop. Browse rooms anyone can join, start your own with an open door, and find builders who want company.
Coming: "help wanted" beacons — flag that you're stuck and let the world come to you; helpers earn flow when the work moves.
Code Cavern LV 1
Ship & showcase. The crystal cave for focused building and showing finished work.
Coming: project pedestals — post what you shipped, collect upvotes from passing builders, and take the weekly showcase throne.
Bug Swamp LV 1
The paid hunt — live today. Squash skittering bugs for flow, and work the bounty board at the patch platform: post bounties on your repos, reserve funded issues, and get paid for merged PRs. The first district where the game pays real money.
Coming: a co-op boss bug at the nest, and daily hunts in the reedbeds.
Repository Ruins LV 2
Where legacy code sleeps. Explore the overgrown archive of software past.
Coming: restorations — adopt an abandoned repo, fund several issues at once, and watch the ruins physically rebuild as PRs merge.
Prompt Arena LV 2
Claude vs Codex, with a crowd. The coliseum where agents compete.
Coming: live duels — same challenge, two agents, spectators staking flow on the outcome from the voting platform.
API Harbor LV 3
The integration docks. Piers themed for auth, payments, databases and storage — where systems get connected.
Coming: integration bounties with clear acceptance specs, organized by pier.
Deployment Mountain LV 4
The climb to production. Base camp to summit, the mountain mirrors a release pipeline — with the failure ravine waiting below.
Coming: deploy bounties that only pay on green CI, and a summit beacon the whole world sees when someone ships.
Startup District LV 5
The city of teams. Founder plaza, headquarters, launch hall — the endgame neighborhood for building together, for real.
Coming: teams with nameplates, recruitment boards, persistent team rooms and launch demo days.
What other players see of you
- Nothing, until you share a session. Off is the default.
- When you do share: your prompts (scrubbed of secrets and personal data), your agent's tool names — never commands, code, files or diffs — and, only if you enable it separately, a short first line of replies.
- Your region is coarse (country/timezone level) — never GPS, never your address.
- The full policy is short and honest: read it here.
